England's world number one Mark Selby won World Championship title of Snooker. 

In Sheffield, where the final match played, Selby from Leicester defeated China’s Ding Junhui 18-14.

After this win, Selby also ended Ding’s chance of being the first Asian player to win the world title.
However, this was Selby’s second trophy of the year, earlier he had won minor Gdynia Open event in Poland.
Know About Mark Selby – 
• An English professional snooker player Mark Anthony Selby is from Leicester. He is the reigning World Snooker Champion, having won the title for a second time in 2016, and is the current World No. 
• In 1999, at the age of 16 Selby joined the main professional snooker tour. 
• Selby after winning three Masters titles in 2008, 2010, and 2013, the UK Championship in 2012, and the World Championship in 2014, became the ninth player to win all of snooker's Triple Crown events at least once.

Amitabh, Kangana receive National Awards

Image result for Amitabh, Kangana receive National Awards·        Actors Amitabh Bachchan and Kangana Ranaut received National Awards for their roles in 'Piku' and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' respectively at the 63rd National Film Awards ceremony held in Delhi.
·        Meanwhile, veteran actor Manoj Kumar was conferred with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at the ceremony. The awards were presented to the actors by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Reliance gets approval for Bangladesh power plant

·  Anil Ambani-led Reliance Power has received in-principle approval from the Bangladesh government for the first phase of a 3,000 MW Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)-based power plant in the country.

·   This will be the largest foreign direct investment in Bangladesh with a potential investment of over $1.3 billion, Reliance said.
· Reportedly, the project is scheduled to be commissioned by 2018-19.


BHEL commissions 600 MW thermal power plant in 

Madhya Pradesh

Image result for bhel company imagesPublic Sector Power equipment manufacturer Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned 600 MW coal-based thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh.
 The unit was commissioned at the 1×600 MW Jhabua Thermal Power Project (TPP) located in Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh. The project has been developed by Jhabua Power Ltd (JPL), a subsidiary of Avantha Power & Infrastructure Limited (APIL). 
This is the second project of APIL commissioned by BHEL after the 1×600 MW Avantha Bhandar TPP at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh. Presently, BHEL is also executing two supercritical units of 800 MW for NTPC at Gadarwara in Madhya Pradesh. 
BHEL is a power plant equipment manufacturer completely owned by Union Government. It is largest engineering and manufacturing company of its kind in India. It was established in 1964 and was awarded a Maharatna Company status in 2013.
