Rajasthan has become the first state to submit smart city 
plan

·         Rajasthan state government has submitted the smart city Proposals of Udaipur, Kota and Ajmer to Union Ministry of Urban Development.
·         Under the proposal the investment outlays proposed by state government for developing these 3 cities as smart cities are Kota 1,493 crore rupeesAjmer 1,300 crore rupees andUdaipur 1,221 crore rupees respectively.



Japan has relaxed the requirements for multiple-entry visas to Indians



·         Under the new visa system, the maximum period of stay will be extended to 30 days from the current 15, with visas valid for five years, up from three years,
·         Sri N Modi had last week announced that India will extend ‘visa on arrival’ to all Japanese citizens from March 1, 2016.










Cairn India has launched World’s Largest Oil Refinery 

Project in Rajasthan



·      Oil and gas major Cairn India is to launch the world’s largest enhanced oil recovery programme inthe Rajasthan desert using polymer injection technology for recovering more oil at its processing terminal near here.

China, Russia, Venezuela and Arab states support Paris 

Agreement




·         China, the top emitter of greenhouse gases in the world, accounting for about 25 per centof emissions, welcomed the Paris Agreement.
·         US Secretary of State, John Kerry said the Agreement provided a critical message for the marketplace. He called the Agreement a tremendous victory for all of our citizens, not one country, not one bloc but for everybody — all of the planet and future generations.

Wipro Wins 2015 Aegis Graham Bell Award 

·         Indian software giant Wipro has bagged 2015 Aegis Graham Bell Award for developing a solution for the Internet of Things (IoT).The award has been conferred upon Wipro’sIoT solution ‘Universal Data Parser’ (UDP).









·         Genesis Prize is also known as Jewish Nobel prize.
·         Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu will present the award to Mr. Perlman at the June 23, 2016 award ceremony to be held in Jerusalem.










APPOINTMENTS:


Justice Narasimha Reddy to head committee on OROP:

·         Former Chief Justice of Patna High Court L.Narasimha Reddy (Retd) took charge as thehead of judicial committee that looks into the One Rank One Pension (OROP) schemefor the ex-serviceman.

·         The committee has been given a six-month deadline for submission of its recommendations.

·         The committee will have its headquarters in Delhi and all administrative support to the committee will be provided by Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.
