- Union Government gave nod to a scheme which is associated with Defence Personal - One Rank One Pension scheme
Indian Govt has given nod to much awaited One Rank One Pension (OROP) scheme for ex-servicemen as ex-servicemen were also holding a demostration to get this scheme implemented. Defence minister of India Manohar Parikkar announced this scheme in New Delhi. As per this newly inducted scheme now ex-servicemen of same rank and same length of service uniform pension regardless of date of retirement. From 1st July 2014 this scheme will be effective and pension will be refixed after every five years.
Armed forces personnel who retire voluntarily would be not covered under OROP scheme. However, it will be applicable to personnel who have already retired prematurely.
It is being said that the estimated cost to implement OROP scheme would be around 8000 crore rupees to 10,000 crore rupees which will increase in future.

- Delhi High Court allows permanent commission for women in - Indian Navy
While giving a landmark decision, Delhi High Court has allowed women to get permanent commission in Indian Navy and also allowed women to board on warships. Division Bench of Delhi HC headed by Justice Kailash Gambhir gave this ruling after hearing a writ petition moved by a group of women naval officers both retired and serving.
Thus female naval officers will have full term service in the Indian Navy and also enjoy retirement benefits same as their male counterparts.
If we talk about Indian Army and Air Force then they already allow permanent commission for female officers.
In Indian Navy female officers are only allowed to serve in the administrative, medical and education branches. They are also working as observers, to monitor censors on aircrafts.

- Haryana state passed bill to abolish Police Recruitment Board
Legislative Assembly of Haryana has passed a bill named Haryana Police (Amendment) Bill, 2015. It was passed to abolish Police Recruitment Board in order to end the nepotism in the police recruitments in the state.
As per this bill now Gazetted posts in the police service would be filled through Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and Direct recruitment to various non-gazetted ranks in the police service would be filled through the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC).

Music composer Aadesh Shrivastava passed away in Mumbai. He was 49 years old. Cause of his death was cancer. He was very versatile composer and had worked for more than 100 films as singer, composer and music director.
Chalte Chalte, Baghban, Baabul, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Rajneeti are the few movies to be named for which he has composed songs.

National Teachers day was observed across the country. Every year on 5th September it is observed across to country to mark the birthday of India's first Vice President and second President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was born on 5th September 1888 in Thiruttani which was then Madras Presidency of British India. He was a great philosopher and statesman. He was among best scholars in the field of comparative religion and philosophy in India in the 20th century.
