Saina Nehwal became the first Indian to win silver in the World Badminton Championship. She was defeated by Spain's Carolina Marin in the final clash.
In 1983 edition, Eminent shuttler Prakash Padukone was the first Indian to win a bronze. This was India's fifth medal at the World Championship.

Odisha Fisheries Policy, 2015 was approved by Odisha Government to increase the productivity and production of fish from marine resources, brackishwater and islands.
