Union Cabinet approved direct release of wages into bank accounts of MNREGA workers


  • As per the scheme, the wage component of MGNREGA will be released following the State Employment Guarantee Fund window directly to the worker's accounts.
  • The transfer will be based on a fund transfer order to be generated by states' implementing agencies in accordance with procedures prescribed by Rural Development Ministry.
  • The proposed system would benefit all stakeholders and improve overall efficiency of implementation.
  •  The scheme will also ensure bring greater transparency in movement of funds and lesser levels of corruption in MNREGA.
  • The Gram panchayats would also be empowered to take up work according to the agreed labour budget, without struggling for release of funds. 
  • After this scheme the State governments would be able to spend more time in planning and improving the process efficiency, without bothering to manage funds for implementation of scheme.

Japanese firm will build transharbour link
by 2019 

  • Will the three-decade-old dream of the 22km Sewri-Nhava sea bridge, a shortest possible link to connect Mumbai with Navi Mumbai and the Pune, Nashik and Goa highways.
  •  The Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA)  gave an assurance to complete the Sewri-Nhava Mumbai TransHarbour Link (MTHL) project by offering a loan at 2% interest rate for 30 years.
  • Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis said that a JICA delegation, led by consul general of Japan Yoshiaki Ito, called on him and assured to complete all formalities regarding the deal by October 2015.
  • Even Chinese firms and British agencies have evinced interest for participation in the bidding competition.
  • The JICA had agreed to provide a loan to cover up to 80% of the project cost, but was conducting its own study prior to reaching any agreement.
  • The MTHL, which is estimated to cost Rs 11,000 crore.
  • JICA is likely to assist MMRDA in gaining inputs about the construction methodology to be adopted.

Union Government deferred proposed talks between the Chief negotiators on India & EU-BTIA

  • Union Government decided to defer the proposed talks between the Chief negotiators on India–European Union (EU) Broad based Investment and Trade Agreement (EU-BTIA) for the present.
  • This decision was taken as the Union Government is disappointed and concerned by the action of EU in imposing legally binding ban on the sale of around 700 pharma products clinically tested by GVK Biosciences, Hyderabad.
  • Chief negotiators of India and the EU were scheduled to resume the negotiations on the proposed free trade agreement to boost two-way commerce and investment, after a gap of two years, on the  on 28 August 2015.
India, Mozambique signed MoU to boost ties in Renewable Energy Sector
  •  The agreement was signed during the official visit of Filipe Nyusi, President of Mozambique to India.
  • Moreover, both nations also agreed to intensify cooperation in maritime security and ocean economy.
  • Mozambique will also play prominent role to meet India’s energy security as it is a proximate source of natural gas, coal and other minerals.
  • India and Mozambique share a history of profitable trade relations and their bilateral trade in 2014-15 was valued at 2.4 billion US dollars.
  • Indian investments in Mozambique are presently valued at over 7 billion US dollars primarily in the hydrocarbon and coal sectors. 
  • India is also an important destination for Mozambicans for higher education and high quality health care facilities.

Remove ban on Porn Websites

• Department of Electronics and Information Technology was given the order to ban Internet service providers, companies, and was provided a list of 857 porn websites.
 
Decision of the Supreme Court
 • The Supreme Court is not a crime to look sexy, sitting room, private decision sites and will not be given to stop, because individual freedom is a fundamental right.

• In July, the Supreme Court had given a verdict said, the big man 'porn' and he does not see crime, only to see him in his bedroom.
• We can not contribute to a ban to watch porn interim order. For section 21 (personal) it is violating the rights issue or private, that Chief Justice Gibbs. El. Dutta said.
 
India is the fifth in the list of countries who are most porn sites

 • According to a report released ahead of the upcoming ban on porn sites on the central government, the media, the Internet has become clear that the top of the most viewed porn sites on the list in Mizoram state.

• The number is in the second position and the fourth list of Maharashtra, Delhi. 
  • Mijhoram, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Assam and the North East are leading the list in the state in india.

• In the report, the countries who are most porn sites is the fifth in the list of India.
