Intex GM Deepak Kabu joins Ziox Mobiles as CEO

· Deepak Kabu has joined Ziox Mobiles as its chief executive officer, becoming the second top-level executive to leave the No 3 Smartphone player in India in past weeks.

· Deepak Kabu worked as general manager in Intex Technologies.

From 1 January 2017 we have to dial 112 number for any Emergency throughout India 

From 1 January 2017, the single emergency number that is 112, will help people to reach immediate services of police, ambulance and fire department.
However, this single emergency number 112 of India will be similar to the '911' all-in-one emergency service in the United States.

Key Facts – 

• This emergency service will also be accessible even through those SIMs and landlines whose outgoing call facility has been stopped or temporarily suspended.
• In any difficulties or problems, only you have to call 112, which will direct the call to concerned departments immediately for help.

• Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, approved this provision of a single number for various emergency services

Novak Djokovic- tennis player won the 2016 Mutua Madrid Open  

         On 8 May 2016, tennis player Novac Djokovic defeated Andy Murray 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 to conquer the Mutua Madrid Open title in Madrid, Spain.However, it was Djokovic’s fifth win in the last 6 ATP 1000 competitions. After this win, he also reached a record 29 Masters 1000 titles.Mutua Madrid Open title was Djokovic’s second title on the Caja Mágica clay. He claimed the game in two hours and six minutes.

United Nations launches Multi-Partner Trust Fund for Zika virus response

·  United Nations (UN) announced the establishment of the UN Zika Response Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) to finance critical unfunded priorities in the response to the Zika outbreak.

· The establishment of the fund was announced by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

Cultural festival in Egypt inaugurated to observe Tagore’s birth anniversary

·        A five day cultural festival in Egypt organised by India to observe the 155th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore has been inaugurated in Cairo
·        It is with the objective to build connections between the people of the two countries who share strong cultural bonds.
·        The Tagore festival was inaugurated by India's Ambassador to Egypt Sanjay Bhattacharyya in Cairo with a painting exhibition showcasing works of artists from Egypt, India and other countries.
·        The Embassy of India in Cairo and Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture will host the Tagore Festival till May 12.
