Government launches 24×7 multi-lingual helpline

Union Ministry of Tourism has launched 24×7 Toll Free Multi-Lingual Tourist Info Line for international tourists in 12 international languages. The 12 languages include 10 International languages besides English and Hindi, namely, French, Arabic, Italian, German, Korean, Japanese, Portuguese, Chinese, Russian and Spanish.

TRAI rules against Differential Pricing 

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has barred telecom service providers (TSPs) from offering or charging discriminatory tariffs for data services on the basis of content accessed by a consumer. In this regard, TRAI has issued Prohibition of Discriminatory Tariffs for Data Services Regulations, 2016.

Maharashtra tops in Internet Readiness Index: IIRIS report 

 As per recently released Index of Internet Readiness of Indian States (IIRIS) report, Maharashtra has topped in terms of the overall Internet readiness index. The report has been compiled and published by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and Indicus Analytics.

India’s first Aviation Park to come up in Gujarat 

 Gujarat state government has decided to set up India’s first aviation park near Bagodara village in Ahmedabad district to strengthen the aviation sector. In this regard, state government has given this task to Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Ltd (GUJSAIL) to carry out the project.

US President unveils Cyber Security National action plan 

United States President Barack Obama has unveiled a cyber-security national action plan to boost security awareness amid of growing risks from new technologies. Under this action plan, President Obama in his budget request has asked for 19 billion US dollars for cyber-security efforts. This budgetary request is 35 per cent up from current levels which have 3 billion dollars allocation.
