• He is 1977 batch IAS officer.

Veena Jain, appointed as director general (DG) of News in Doordarshan.

• She is 1984 Indian Information Service officer.

"Ajanmi Beti Ke liye Daud" organised in Himachal Pradesh for saving girl child.

• Forum for Human Rights and Justice (FHRJ) on 27 May 2015 organised a Marathon named as Ajanmi Beti Ke liye Daud (Protecting the Unborn Girl) in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. 
• The objective of this Marathon is to save girl child and arrest the declining sex ratio in the hill state.
• Himachal is one among the ten worst states wherein sex ratio is worst. It has a child sex ratio of 906 against 1000 females.

S Christopher has been appointed as new Director General of DRDO.

• He was Distinguished Scientist and Programme Director (airborne early warning and control system) and Director, Centre for Air-Borne Systems in the DRDO.

Gurnimrat Nimmy Sidhu has been named for Oxford University award.

• Indian-origin teacher Gurnimrat Nimmy Sidhu was named for University of Oxford Inspirational Teacher Award. 
• She was named for this award for helping one of her students get into the world-famous varsity.
• She is among 12 teachers to win the University of Oxford Inspirational Teacher Award.
